What is Kundalini Yoga?

Kundalini Yoga, also known as the yoga of awareness, is a practice that dates back thousands of years and shares many practices with Kriya Yoga. Unlike flow yoga, Kundalini Yoga is more like a mindful workout, combining yoga postures with powerful breath work. At the end of each posture or exercise, you will be encouraged to stop, enjoy, and notice the effects. These practices aim to stimulate the body to release endorphins , promoting a sense of well-being and overall positivity.

The ultimate aim is to realise your true nature, which lies underneath the layers of personality and identity that we often mistakenly identify with. Through the practice, you can come to understand that your life is a mirror of your mind  and  your thoughts, emotions, and beliefs are reflected in your external reality. At its core, Kundalini yoga teaches that our true nature is awareness.

About

Thank you for visiting my page! My name is Gail and I live in the beautiful seaside village of Heacham in Norfolk. I am a YogaBody certified breath work coach and Stretching coach. My most recent training is in Hormone yoga therapy with Yoga Vidya Speyer.

I found Yoga, or maybe it found me in my early forties. I was struggling with chronic lower back pain, fatigue, terrible PMS, and just feeling generally crappy most of the time! I kept going back to my GP for help but eventually came to the realisation that there was no magic pill, I had to make changes to my lifestyle!

I began practicing yoga at home most days and began to feel better very quickly. I completed a 220 hour kundalini yoga training with ISKY Yoga school in Reading in 2019.

"Having started online during lockdown and then progressed to the Wells Saturday morning sessions, evenings at Ringstead and now the Syderstone classes the format is great. Warm up, breathing practices main set, and relaxation. Every session is different and delivered very professionally in a calm supportive gentle coaxing manner. I would recommend this experience to everyone looking to improve their wellbeing."
