What is Kundalini Yoga?

Kundalini is a unique style of yoga. It’s a balance between physical work and spirituality which weaves together meditation, dynamic movement, breathing techniques and chanting to create a practice which directly changes your state of mind and resets the nervous system. The aim is to increase awareness and consciousness while developing joy, vitality and an appreciation for being alive. In Kundalini yoga we use posture, just like in a Hatha practice but there is not so much focus on perfecting posture – the focus is on moving your body and using the breath to move stagnant energy and increase the flow of life force energy, prana. You don’t have to be an experienced yogi or be super flexible to practice.

About Me



Thank you for visiting my page! My name is Gail and I live in the beautiful seaside village of Heacham in Norfolk. I found Yoga, or maybe it found me in my early forties. I was struggling with chronic lower back pain, fatigue, terrible PMS, and just feeling generally crappy, most of the time! I kept going back to my GP for help but eventually came to the realisation that there was no magic pill, I had to make changes to my lifestyle!

I began practicing yoga at home most days and began to feel better very quickly. I began a 220 hour kundalini yoga training with ISKY Yoga school in Reading in 2019. I am also a YogaBody certified breath work coach and Stretching coach. My most recent training is in Hormone yoga therapy with Yoga Vidya Speyer.
